Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is the Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay fighter from Thailand, as well as mixed martial artist competing with the Flyweight Division in the UFC. She is the elder sister of another fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She debuted in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of this tournament, beating Suzane Mill in the finals by unanimous choice. Antonina Shevchenko won a second silver medal in 2007, with a bronze award in 2008. She also won winning gold in 2011 and then was named the 2016 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion. Antonia began her professional career in 2003, and she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She took victory by unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko made the professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won in the second round of a TKO fight as well as her two fights during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003, resulting in an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA and concentrated on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won against Anissa through a unanimous decision, and she then beat Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she quit the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina Shevchenko defeated Nievera thanks to her striking skills that are superior to Nievera during the clinch, using knees to body. After this win, Antonina was given the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko fell to Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision following her debut fight. Antonina bounced back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke. She was also awarded the fight of the evening bonus for the bout. Shevchenko went 1-2 during her subsequent three bouts, winning against Ariane Lipski before falling to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
